Cardiff Castle

CARDIFF CASTLE WALES.jpg

One of Wale's leading tourist attractions, the castle is situated in the heart of the City of Cardiff.

The castle you see today is the result of building work from the Roman Period up to the present day. Much of the castle was rebuilt during the 19th century by the 3rd Marquis of Bute, who employed William Burgess, a remarkable architect to transform the castle into a medieval fantasy castle with lavish interiors.

The tour of the interior of the castle is recommended as you will  see the lavish, and some say eccentric design and artwork in the many rooms.

Unfortuately the rooms are not accessible to wheelchair users, although the castle grounds, tearooms, can be easily reached. There are toilets in the grounds
